Randy has also built an expert network of people and firms he’s known and worked with over the years. He has over 18 years experience as a technology industry analyst holding many executive roles. Prior to his position at Ipsos Vantis, he was Group Vice President and General Manager of Consumer, Digital and Social Media, Mobility, and Computing Research at IDC, running a $16M division within the firm.

Randy focuses on the evolution of content across three screens- TV, Web and mobile- and its impact on brands, businesses, and customers.

Over the past six years he has advising firms in five distinct market areas:

  • Consumer electronics including audio/music, video, gaming, and digital home products and affiliated online services, as well as navigation products and services
  • Digital and social media including online and mobile advertising, online and mobile content and entertainment, and social networking strategies for marketing and PR purposes
  • PCs, display technologies, and green/sustainable product strategies
  • Mobile ecosystems including mobile devices and application platforms (iPhone/iPad, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone 7, Symbian), and mobile content development

Randy has previously directed all aspects of running a global research business— budgeting, P&L management, and strategic planning while directing over 25 subscription-based subscription-based market advisory services as well as managing a significant consulting budget. He’s consulted with top CE, PC, digital media and Web 2.0 brands and global content and service providers (telecom, cable, IPTV) to refine their strategic plans, and identify market, growth and investment opportunities.
